Manhattan Beach Little League is hard at work improving four Manhattan Beach city baseball fields prior to the start of the 2019 Spring Baseball Season. The fields included in the work are Live Oak, Premier, Marine East, and Marine Center. The goal is to have the four fields open for opening day March 2nd, 2019.
The scope of work, provided by Andre Sportsturf Management (ASM), includes removing existing sod, base anchors, mounds, and batter boxes. Once the infields are prepped, infield irrigation will be added for infield spray, infield sod installation and edging, as well as, adding infield mix and dirt where needed. Also new this season will be the addition of using break away bases.
ASM will also provide monthly maintenance to the fields throughout the spring season. During this time, we ask that everyone stay off the baseball fields to allow the sod to establish.
